Our Story

Where it began

A love letter
to Memphis

Maison started with a question: why does Memphis — a city with such extraordinary food culture — not have a fine dining restaurant that feels truly local? Not a steakhouse franchise, not a concept imported from Nashville or New York, but something rooted here.

Chef Dominique Reyes and her partner Jordan Webb opened the doors to Maison in October 2018. The name is French for "home," because that's exactly what they wanted to create.

Six years on, the dining room has become a gathering place for the city — for proposals and anniversaries, for celebrations big and small, for Tuesday nights that turned into unforgettable evenings.

Our menu changes with the harvest. If it's not at its best right now, it's not on the plate. Full stop.

We know the name of every farm we buy from. Eight local producers supply over 70% of what arrives in our kitchen each week.

Great ingredients deserve great cooking. We apply classical French technique to Southern produce — and the results speak for themselves.

Executive Chef & Co-Founder

Dominique trained at the Culinary Institute of America before spending five years in Paris kitchens — including two years under a three-Michelin-star chef. She returned to Memphis in 2015 with a clear intention: to cook the food of her home with the rigour of a French kitchen.

Her food is generous, precise, and deeply personal. Every dish on the menu has a story she can tell you over dessert.

The journey

Six years in the making

2018
Maison opens

We opened our doors on Cooper Street with 38 seats, a 6-item menu, and more ambition than sense.

2019
Memphis Flyer recognises us

Named "Best New Restaurant" in the Memphis Flyer annual dining awards. We cried, then got back to work.

2020
We adapt

Pivoted to an outdoor dining garden and weekend meal kits during the pandemic. Our community kept us alive.

2022
Chef Reyes wins Best Chef

Dominique named Best Chef in Memphis by the Memphis Flyer. A Southern Living feature follows.

2024
Private dining room opens

Expanded into the adjoining space to create a private dining room for up to 24 guests.
